Tim Hall’s Leaving Texas Scramble!

92 Cleobury members gathered on Sunday 18/3/12 to show their gratitude and support to Tim Hall. Tim has served Cleobury for ten years and the massive turn out was a great gesture from the members. The texas scramble was a hard fought competition with four nearest the pins up for grabs. Josh Carpenter, Matt Broad, James Ralph and Helen Watson all hit sublime shots on those par three’s and walked away with goody bags.

The overall competition was won by Ian Gough, Les Stanford, Jon Conboy and Gordon Moriaty with a nett score of 58.2.

After the prize giving Tim was given a brand new 32 inch LCD TV to take to his new club and display his social media promotions which was donated by the CMGC members and the Pain family.

An emotional Tim had this final statement for Cleobury ‘Once again I would like to thank all the members of Cleobury and Robert and Graham for this fantastic opportunity. The last ten years have been a rollarcoaster with many highs. Please stay in touch and I will see you all soon’.

Please note: Tim’s leaving Texas scramble on March 18th is now FULL!!

We do have a reserve list please email Tim here » pro@cleoburygolfclub.com and he will add you to the list.

19/2/12Men’s BetterballThe men’s betterball was once again a massive success with over 50 players braving the winter conditions. A light dusting of snow could not stop the Cleobury members who were chomping at the bit for some competitive golf. Josh Alcock and Will Edwards thought they had done enough with 43 points however they could only finish second to a fantastic score of 46 points. Stuart Humphries and Richard Wright put in a stunning display, this was epitomized with a birdie three on the last hole which was playing ridiculously long due to the afternoon winds. 46 point heroes Stuart and Richard have only been members of Cleobury for six weeks and were clearly delighted with their first win, ‘It feels great to get the first win under our belts, we have loved every minute of life at Cleobury and cannot wait for the summer season’.  Pictured left - Stuart Humphries & Richard Wright

Men’s double roll up Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th december 2011

A fantastic turn out of 69 players took on the winter conditions to contest the double roll up at Cleobury. This unique competition allows players to compete on either day with the top four scores getting in the prizes. The conditions on the Saturday were very tough with the sub minus temperatures making it very difficult to judge distances. That did not stop Ian Duncan who had a fantastic 38 points to top the leader board ahead of Richard Smith on 35. Sunday proved much more fruitful on the scoring front both Paul Liggins and Dan Clark posting 38 points and with a better back count they finished second and third respectfully. The weekend belonged to long standing member Bob Lucas who despite the wind and rain on the back nine shot 39 points, Bob who recently returned from Australia having played in some seniors events was delighted to have secured victory. ‘I saw the leader board from Saturday and knew 38 was the score to beat, I started off very steady and just kept making pars and holing putts when I needed to, I am delighted with this victory considering the strong field and hope this form continues into the new year’.   Pictured is Bob Lucas after his victory
